Last updated: March 2025

How we collect, use, and protect your information. See our Terms of Service for service terms.

1. Who we are

GoatAcquisition.com (“we,” “us”) is a domain acquisition and domain brokerage service operating as part of the GoatNames ecosystem. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services (including when you submit a domain for acquisition or for brokerage/sale).

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you submit a domain acquisition request, submit a domain for brokerage (selling), or contact us - such as: domain name(s) of interest or for sale, budget or sale expectations, company name, email address, and any notes you include. We may also collect technical information (e.g., IP address, browser type) when you use our website. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to: process and respond to your acquisition requests and brokerage submissions; communicate with you about your request or listing and our services; conduct research and negotiation related to domain acquisition or brokerage (finding buyers, negotiating offers); and comply with legal obligations. For stealth acquisition, we do not disclose your identity to the domain seller; we act as your intermediary. For brokerage, we use confidential outreach to qualified buyers and do not list your domain publicly unless you request it. Transaction details are shared with Escrow.com (or the chosen escrow provider) only as needed to complete the transaction.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services, handle disputes, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. You may request deletion of your data subject to applicable law.

5. Cookies and tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, analytics, and to improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use cookies for advertising or to share your data with third parties for marketing.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Communications and transactions involving payment are handled through Escrow.com, which has its own security and privacy practices.

7. Third parties

We may share information with service providers (e.g., hosting, email) and with Escrow.com (or another escrow provider) to complete transactions. We require such parties to use your information only for the purposes we specify and in line with this policy.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, or to object to processing. To exercise these rights or ask questions about our data practices, use our Contact page.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
